Service Overview

Trust Factory delivers the indepth knowlegde and facts of your Lotus Notes environment and reveals details about important cost drivers (network, hardware, software, operations). Together with the know-how and benchmarks we developed on 10TB of statistics from global customers, Trust Factory assists in making informed decisions about for instance server consolidations, advanced trouble shooting, system health checks, internal cost allocation and billing. This service is referred to as the DNA Network Analysis.
What DNA reveals:

- Actual usage of mail and applications
- Consumption of Bandwidth
- Possible memory leakages
- Possible security issues (weak passwords, etc)
- Inconsistancies in your Domino Directory
How Does it work?
Depending on the area we are asked to focus on, the presentation reports vary, but the DNA Service Activities are the same, and are concluded within a 30 day cycle.
Requirements
We start with an intake meeting, where we establish the focus. By default, DNA can be performed on any Domino environment, without having to make alterations to the default settings. In some scenarios we advise to tweak some of the log file settings before commencing with the actual collection. In our library, you can find the Requirements Documentation, which describes what settings can be tweaked.
Data Collection
The customer can choose to perform data collection themselves, or have their DNA service supplier conduct the collection as a service. Prior to collection, the customer has built up the logs ensuring it contains 7 days of log events. In short, the actual collection envolves the usage of the DNA Data Collector - executable, which reads out the Notes log files, aggregates, compresses and encrypts it, ready for us to analyze it. After that, the prepared data is made available to Trust Factory for off-site analysis.
Processing
Upon receiving the data collection from the customer, the data warehouse of DNA immediately starts digesting and processing all data. After all data has been processed, and data marts have been produced for the topics covered, the report generator creates spreadsheets and graphs for further analysis.
Presentation & Reports
The results will be presented during a management briefing with the customer. During this meeting relevant topics and results will be illuminated, while relevant observations in the customers Domino environment are being clarified in detail. In many slides the observations in the customers Domino environment are compared to the DNA Benchmark, giving insight as to how it compares to other Domino sites. Following the meeting, an electronic copy of the presentation and the management report (PDF) is made available to the customer.
The management report covers all analysis topics. For each topic, observations, conclusions and recommendations are described along with a graphical representation. An example of this management report can be found in the library, under Example Management Report.
Wrap up
Approximately 30 days after we started, after analysing your environment, and exposing all the facts, we gave you advise how to proceed. Trust Factory's envolvement doesn't have to stop here though. You can ask us to:
